Q. When does the PTA meet?
A. The McKinley School PTA General Membership meets six times a year in McKinley's Library Media Center at 7:30 pm. Check our monthly Calendar for each specific date.
Q. How much does it cost to join the PTA?
A. It costs $6 for an individual membership. A family membership, consisting of two adults, costs $12. Click here to join.
Q. If I join the PTA must I volunteer?
A. No. It is your choice whether to become involved or not. Although we are always looking for volunteers, you are free to choose if or when you would like to help.
Q. Do I need to be a PTA member to attend a PTA meeting?
A. No. Anyone can attend a General Membership meeting, but only members can vote.
Q. What is a Friday Folder?
A. At the beginning of the school year, each McKinley student is given a plastic see-through folder. Every Friday, flyers containing pertinent school, PTA and community information are collated an placed inside your child's folder (the Friday Folder).
Q. Why is my child is no longer bringing home a Friday Folder?
A. His/her Friday Folder has probably been misplaced. You can purchase another folder by sending $2 in envelope marked "Friday Folders" with your child's name, grade and teacher.
Q. Where can I get a list of student addresses and phone numbers?
A. Every fall, the McKinley School PTA publishes the McKinley School Directory. Students are listed by class and by alphabetical order with address and phone number. The directory is free to PTA members, one per family.
Q. Can I buy another copy of the McKinley Directory?
A. Sure. The cost of an extra copy is $2 for PTA members and $6 for non-members. Contact Tracey Rosato to get an extra copy.
Q. Where can I get information about the student lunch program?

Q. How do I know if school is cancelled, delayed or if there is an early dismissal?
A. To find out if school is cancelled, delayed or if there is an early dismissal due to weather, go to Fairfield Public Schools. Please note: There are also scheduled early dismissals through out the school year. Check our Calendar for this information.
